The staff at the Institute for Educational Research & Service (IERS) have successfully written grants to support many different projects that are funded by international, federal and state agencies. Some of the agencies that have supported the work of IERS include:
- Asian Development Bank
- Department of State
- Department of Education
- Department of Justice
- Department of Health and Human Services
- Montana State Department of Education
- Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services
- Montana Attorney General's Office
In addition, these projects have allowed IERS staff to collaborate and partner with other departments, schools and colleges on The University of Montana campus as well as local educational agencies.
In particular, IERS partned with The University of Montana's International Programs on a 3-year grant to host Russian science, math and Information Technology teachers during three-week professional development projects each year.
IERS also partnered with The University of Montana's School of Education on a grant to host educators from Kyrgyzstan during a one-month professional development program.
Furthermore, IERS partnered with several science faculty members from The University of Montana to facilitate a Math/Science Partnership, funded by the Montana Office of Public Instruction, to provide professional development for teachers in inquiry-based science education.
